Punk history lands in the heart of Cardiff as Sex Pistols featuring Frank Carter headline Cardiff Castle on Saturday 1 August 2026, marking 50 years of punk.

Steve Jones, Paul Cook and Glen Matlock are joined by Frank Carter for a full-throttle celebration of one of the most influential bands of all time. Fresh off a huge year of global shows and a fiery revival that’s seen circle pits at the Royal Albert Hall and a packed-out return to London’s 100 Club, the Pistols are hitting Cardiff for a massive outdoor show.

They’re joined by a heavyweight punk lineup: The Stranglers, The Undertones, and Cardiff’s own rising force Panic Shack opening the night.

Expect a relentless, high-energy bill honouring the legacy, attitude and chaos that kicked off a movement in 1976 — brought to life by a band that helped define it.

This is a milestone moment for the castle’s summer series and one of the standout shows of 2026.
